Understanding nerve damage caused by diabetes and its symptoms
Many patients with diabetes develop some form of neuropathy, with or without symptoms. The risk increases with longer duration of diabetes, especially after 10 years.
It is more common in individuals with poor blood sugar control, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, or those above 40 years of age.
Most Common Type: Peripheral neuropathy affecting hands and legs.

Numbness or reduced sensitivity
Tingling or burning sensation
Sharp pain or cramps
Extreme sensitivity to touch
